Wow. I got a lot of junk done today but my list of things to do doesn’t seem any shorter. I can’t believe I’m leaving this Saturday. When I first applied for the project, I thought I’d be a lot more different by now. But I’m not. I’m still crazy, immature, assertive, sleepy Sarah. But just because I’m not completely different doesn’t mean my heart is completely the same. Things are changing. God is moving. And I can’t wait to see him work wonders in Seattle.

The thing is, some people think patriotism is just believing that everything America does is perfect and there’s nothing we need to change. But I think that true patriotism is about making honest critique of the country and trying to make it better because if you don’t want to make it better how can you say you love the country?
